Buddhist Monks Conclude 2,300-Mile Peace Walk in Washington, DC, Promoting Inner Peace
A group of Buddhist monks completed a 2,300-mile peace walk across the United States, arriving in Washington, DC on February 10, 2026. The monks, originating from the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth, Texas, embarked on this journey in October, traversing eight states including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia. Their pilgrimage aimed to spread a message of peace, emphasizing that peace begins within each individual and extends to families, communities, and the nation. The monks adhered to a strict ascetic lifestyle during their journey, eating one meal per day and sleeping under trees.
