Bainbridge Island Council Allocates $400,000 in Lodging Tax Funding to Boost Local Tourism
The Bainbridge Island City Council has approved $400,000 in lodging tax funding for fiscal year 2026, following recommendations from the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC). The funding will support 11 out of 13 applicants, including local organizations such as the Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce, Bainbridge Island Downtown Association, and Visit Bainbridge Island. The funds aim to enhance economic development and tourism on the island. Interim city manager Ellen Schroer emphasized the importance of these funds in promoting local tourism and economic growth. The decision follows a series of meetings where the committee reviewed presentations from applicants.
