Digital IDs: How to Add Your Driver’s License and Passport to Your Phone
Digital IDs are becoming increasingly popular, allowing users to store their driver's licenses and passports on their smartphones for easier access at TSA checkpoints and other supported locations. Currently, 21 U.S. states and territories support digital IDs, with compatibility varying across Apple Wallet, Google Wallet, and Samsung Wallet. The process involves scanning official documents and verifying identity through photos or videos. While digital IDs offer convenience, they are not intended to replace physical credentials and are primarily used for quick identity verification.
