Build-A-Bear Recalls 36,000 Plush Bears Due to Choking Hazard
Build-A-Bear has announced the recall of approximately 36,000 Heartwarming Hugs plush bears due to a potential choking hazard. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reported that the bears, which contain a side pouch with ceramic beads, have a zipper slider that can detach, posing a risk to children. Although no injuries have been reported in the U.S., an incident in the UK highlighted the issue. The bears, sold since January for about $48, are intended for children aged 3 and up. Consumers are advised to stop using the bears and return them to Build-A-Bear stores for a refund or gift card.
