Pedestrian Fatality on US-395 Sparks Investigation
A tragic accident occurred on April 6, 2026, when a 34-year-old male pedestrian was struck and killed by a Toyota Prius on northbound US-395 near Vista Point in Mono County, California. The incident took place at approximately 8:19 p.m. as the pedestrian was walking and pushing a bicycle in the #1 lane. The vehicle, driven by Alexandria L., collided with the pedestrian, propelling him into a dirt-and-rock embankment. He sustained major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by personnel from the California Highway Patrol Bishop Area and the Mono County Sheriff's Office. The driver and her passenger, Uriel M., suffered minor injuries. The identity of the deceased pedestrian will be released after notification to the next of kin. The crash is currently under investigation.
