Israel Tourism Ministry Director General Visits U.S. to Boost Inbound Tourism
Michael Izhakov, the Director General of Israel's Ministry of Tourism, is visiting the United States to enhance Israel's presence in the U.S. tourism market. The visit includes meetings with senior tourism industry executives, airline representatives, travel agents, investors, and community leaders in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. This initiative is part of a broader effort to restore Israel's standing in international tourism markets, with the U.S. being the largest source of inbound tourism for Israel. In 2025, over 30% of visitors to Israel were from the U.S. The visit will feature a reception in New York on June 1, where the ministry will host leaders from the American tourism industry and launch a new North America marketing campaign. This campaign, supported by an investment of approximately NIS 12 million ($3.3 million), aims to showcase Israel's culture, gastronomy, and local experiences, reinforcing the message that Israel remains a safe destination for tourists.
