Joint Commission Launches AI Certification Program for Healthcare Organizations
The Joint Commission has announced the launch of a new artificial intelligence certification program aimed at healthcare organizations. This voluntary program, known as the Responsible Use of AI in Healthcare (RUAIH) certification, provides a framework for the safe, reliable, transparent, and ethical use of AI technology in healthcare settings. The certification standards focus on governance, effective data management, risk and bias reduction, monitoring and evaluating safety performance, and transparency, education, and training. The program is open to any healthcare organization, regardless of accreditation status with the Joint Commission.
