7-Eleven Revives Operation Chill to Foster Positive Police-Youth Engagement
7-Eleven Inc. has announced the return of its Operation Chill program for the 31st consecutive year. This initiative is designed to promote positive interactions between law enforcement and youth by rewarding children with free Slurpee drink coupons for good deeds. Examples of such deeds include wearing a helmet while biking, picking up litter, or helping a neighbor. The program, which began in 1995, has expanded to include over 1,300 law enforcement agencies across the United States, distributing more than 24 million coupons to date. This year, nearly 740,000 coupons will be issued to participating agencies. Treasa Bowers, 7-Eleven's executive vice president and chief people and sustainability officer, emphasized the program's role in fostering trust and strengthening community relationships.
