Pew Research Center Highlights Teen Screen Time and Social Media Impact
A recent study by Pew Research Center explores the experiences of U.S. teens on social media platforms TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. The research indicates that TikTok users are more likely to report excessive screen time and negative impacts on sleep and productivity compared to users of Instagram and Snapchat. Despite these concerns, a majority of teens believe they spend an appropriate amount of time on these platforms. The study also highlights that Snapchat is perceived as beneficial for friendships, with nearly half of its users reporting positive effects. The research involved a survey of 1,458 U.S. teens and their parents, conducted between September 25 and October 9, 2025.
