Brigitte Bardot's Widower Criticizes Sale of Her Personal Belongings
Bernard d'Ormale, the widower of French screen icon Brigitte Bardot, has publicly criticized the planned auction of hundreds of her personal belongings. The sale, organized by Bardot's animal welfare foundation, is scheduled to take place at the Drouot auction house in Paris. The collection includes over 300 items, such as portraits, toiletries, a flamenco guitar, and a black tutu. D'Ormale expressed his dismay to AFP, calling the sale a 'joke' and a 'disrespect to Brigitte's memory.' He argued that these personal items should have been preserved as part of her legacy, potentially for public viewing at her famed Saint-Tropez home, La Madrague. According to d'Ormale, approximately three-quarters of the items originated from Bardot's Paris apartment, with the remainder from La Madrague. He believes Bardot herself would not have approved of the sale, which is intended to raise funds for the foundation she established.
