FIFA Leadership Meeting in Morocco Addresses Governance and Integrity Concerns
FIFA's leadership, including President Gianni Infantino and Secretary General Mattias Grafström, convened in Rabat, Morocco, to discuss the organization's governance and integrity following the withdrawal of the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal. The meeting emphasized the need for improved processes and communication within FIFA's management. The FFE proposal, which was intended to be reviewed by FIFA Member Associations and the FIFA Council, was withdrawn after it was leaked to the media, leading to internal and external criticism. During the meeting, FIFA's leadership reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the organization's integrity and pledged to learn from past mistakes. An apology was issued to the FIFA Council and Member Associations for the handling of the proposal, and a review is set to be conducted with a report to be presented at the next FIFA Council meeting.
