Severe Thunderstorms Expected Across Colorado Plains
Colorado is facing the potential for severe thunderstorms, particularly across the Eastern Plains, according to Denver7. A weather disturbance combined with a boundary separating humid and dry air is creating conditions favorable for strong storms. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Boulder has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for several northeastern counties, including Cheyenne, Logan, and Yuma, until 10 p.m. Saturday. These storms could bring large hail, damaging winds up to 70 mph, and a small chance of isolated tornadoes. Areas along the I-25 Corridor and foothills are expected to see less intense activity, but showers and thunderstorms are still likely. The unsettled weather pattern is expected to continue into Sunday, with additional storms possible during the afternoon and evening.
