New York Ranks 38th for Military Retirees, Highlighting Healthcare Strengths
A recent study by WalletHub has ranked New York as the 38th best state for military retirees. The study evaluated all 50 states and the District of Columbia across 28 metrics, including economic environment, quality of life, and healthcare. New York scored particularly well in healthcare, ranking third due to its high number of VA facilities per veteran. However, the state ranked poorly in economic and environmental factors, placing 49th, and in quality of life, ranking 46th. The study highlights the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life and the importance of supportive environments for their financial and health needs.
