Taylor Farms Recalls Jalapeño Products Due to Salmonella Concerns Affecting Multiple States
Taylor Fresh Foods, the parent company of Taylor Farms, has issued a voluntary recall for several products containing jalapeños due to potential salmonella contamination. This recall follows a previous recall of iceberg lettuce linked to a cyclospora outbreak. The jalapeño recall was prompted by Coast Citrus Distributors' recall of fresh jalapeños, which were identified as a potential source of salmonella. The affected products, including guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip, were distributed across numerous states and sold at major retailers such as Kroger, Target, and Walmart. The FDA and CDC are investigating the outbreak, which has resulted in 345 reported cases across 27 states.
