Chilean Copper Mines Spence and Sierra Gorda Sign MoU for Enhanced Collaboration
During the Exponor 2026 event in Antofagasta, Chile, two major copper mining companies, Sierra Gorda SCM and BHP's Spence, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to explore opportunities for technical and commercial collaboration to enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of their operations. The MoU is a strategic move to foster innovative cooperation between these neighboring companies, both located in the municipality of Sierra Gorda, a key copper-producing region. The collaboration will focus on areas such as procurement and operational processes, addressing shared challenges and solutions. Dee Lingenfelder, President of BHP's Pampa Norte, emphasized the importance of this agreement in strengthening regional relationships and achieving sustainable results.
