Attorney Develops 'Justice Reach' App to Address Legal Deserts in West Virginia
Charleston-based attorney Olubunmi 'Bunmi' Kusimo-Frazier has launched a web-based application called 'Justice Reach' to provide basic legal education to residents of West Virginia, particularly in areas identified as 'legal deserts.' These are regions with fewer than one attorney per 1,000 residents, leading to significant gaps in legal knowledge and access. The app, currently in its research beta phase and free to use until September 30, 2026, offers plain-language answers about criminal charges, rights, and legal processes. Unlike other AI tools, Justice Reach does not provide legal interpretations or advice but guides users through the legal system, offering an affordable alternative for those unable to hire an attorney.
