Metropolitan Museum of Art Cancels John Galliano Exhibition Following Controversy
The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced the cancellation of its planned exhibition on fashion designer John Galliano, which was slated to coincide with the 2027 Met Gala. The decision comes after significant backlash regarding Galliano's past antisemitic remarks. Galliano was dismissed from his role as creative director of Christian Dior in 2011 and subsequently found guilty of antisemitic behavior by a French court. The exhibition, titled 'John Galliano: Horizons,' was intended to open in May 2027 at The Met's Costume Institute.
