USCIS Extends Employment Authorization for Ukraine, El Salvador, and Sudan TPS Beneficiaries
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued updated guidance extending Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) for certain Temporary Protected Status (TPS) beneficiaries from Ukraine, El Salvador, and Sudan. These extensions aim to prevent gaps in employment authorization for eligible individuals whose EADs would otherwise expire before the termination of their respective TPS designations. For Ukraine and Sudan TPS beneficiaries, EADs are automatically extended through October 19, 2026. For El Salvador TPS beneficiaries, the extension is through September 9, 2026. USCIS is sending notices to individuals who filed Form I-765 during recent re-registration periods, remain eligible for TPS, and hold an EAD under category A12 or C19 that expires before the new termination dates. Employers are advised to update Form I-9 and E-Verify records accordingly, noting the new expiration dates and retaining the USCIS extension notices.
