WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow messages to disappear after being read, enhancing user privacy. This feature, currently in pre-release and initially available on Android, will eventually be accessible on iPhones. It builds on existing 'view once' media and voice message options, similar to those offered by Signal. However, Apple devices provide a workaround to save disappearing content by mirroring the iPhone screen on a Mac, allowing users to capture screenshots. This development is part of WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to improve privacy controls for its users.
