Violent Winds Disrupt Coachella Festival in Indio
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, faced significant disruptions due to strong winds on Friday night. The winds, which reached gusts of up to 40 mph, led to the cancellation of performances, including EDM artist Anyma's set. The festival, which attracts approximately 125,000 attendees, experienced tents and canopies being blown over in the campsite. According to meteorologist Isaac Longley from AccuWeather, similar windy conditions are expected to continue throughout the weekend. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration forecasts temperatures reaching 86°F (30°C) on Saturday with winds increasing to 15-20 mph and gusts up to 30 mph. An air quality alert for windblown dust is in effect until 5 a.m. Sunday.
