Faulkner University Receives Over $3 Million to Boost Rural Healthcare Access and Workforce in Alabama
Faulkner University has been awarded more than $3 million through Alabama’s Rural Health Transformation Program (ARHTP) to enhance healthcare access and strengthen the healthcare workforce in rural Alabama. Governor Kay Ivey announced the first round of ARHTP awards, totaling over $144 million, distributed among various healthcare providers, universities, and organizations serving rural communities across the state. Faulkner University specifically received two awards: $2.08 million for the Eagle Care Mobile Health Network and $975,000 for a comprehensive rural healthcare workforce program. The Eagle Care Mobile Health Network will deploy two mobile healthcare units, supplemented by virtual visits and remote patient monitoring, to deliver services directly to underserved rural communities in Bullock, Butler, Dallas, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Perry, and Wilcox counties.
