Bexar County Sheriff's Office Links Body Found Near Railroad to Laredo Boxcar Deaths
Authorities in Bexar County, Texas, have discovered a body near railroad tracks that they believe is connected to a recent incident involving six people found dead inside a boxcar in Laredo. The body was found by Union Pacific Railroad police near Pue and Wolf roads, just outside Loop 1604. The discovery follows a potential human smuggling event where the six bodies were found during an inspection at a rail yard in Laredo. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar stated that the body found is believed to be part of the same group. The boxcars, described as 'basically airtight,' can reach temperatures up to 150 degrees, and it is suspected that the smugglers either dumped the body to avoid accountability or the individual fell out when the door was opened. The deceased was found with a Mexican voter registration card, and the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office is working to determine the identity and cause of death.
