Extreme Heat Warning Issued for North Texas on Tuesday
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for parts of North Texas, including Dallas, Tarrant, Denton, and Collin counties, as well as areas stretching from Johnson and Ellis counties to the Texas-Oklahoma border. This warning is in effect from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to reach up to 108°F (42°C), with heat indices potentially climbing to 109°F (43°C). The NWS warns of a hot, dry weather pattern with minimal precipitation, which could increase the risk of grass fires through the first half of the week. This warning, previously known as an Excessive Heat Warning until March 2025, highlights the dangerous conditions expected in the region.
