Roberts Drive in Sandy Springs Remains Closed Following Water Main Break
Roberts Drive near Roswell Road and the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs, Georgia, remains closed more than a day after a water main break occurred on September 1. According to Sandy Springs Communications Director Carter Long, the main repair was completed by 5 p.m. on September 1, but the road's condition necessitates its continued closure. Atlanta Watershed Management Department contractors were on-site the following morning to begin restoration efforts. As of 3 p.m. on September 2, there was no estimated time for the reopening of the section of roadway between 9590 Roberts Drive and Roswell Road. This marks the second time this year that Roberts Drive has closed in a similar location; in July, a crash damaged a water main and fire hydrant, leading to a multi-day closure.
