Bay County NICU Survivor Competes in Jessica Alba's 'Baby of the Year' Contest
Travis Davis, a one-year-and-eight-month-old toddler from Bay County, Florida, who spent approximately three months in the HCA Gulf Coast NICU after being born at 26 weeks, has been selected to compete in the 'Baby of the Year' competition. This national contest, presented by celebrity Jessica Alba, offers a $25,000 prize and a feature in a national advertising campaign. Travis was born weighing 1 pound, 12 ounces, and his parents describe him as a fighter who has overcome significant health challenges, including a stage one brain bleed, ventriculitis, and jaundice. His parents, Shelby Carson and Ken Davis, expressed immense pride in his progress and hope to share his story to provide encouragement to other families facing similar circumstances. The competition also serves as a fundraiser for Baby2Baby, a national non-profit that supplies essential items to children in need across the United States.
