Lancaster City Schools Superintendent Nathan Hale Announces Retirement After Decades of Service
Nathan Hale, the Superintendent of Lancaster City Schools, has announced his retirement effective January 2027. Hale has been with the district for over 40 years, serving in various roles including principal, assistant superintendent, and director of human resources. He has been the superintendent since 2021. During his tenure, Hale has been instrumental in the Ohio Improvement Process, planning and constructing new district facilities, and leading successful levy campaigns. The district's new high school, which he oversaw, is set to open this fall. The Lancaster City School Board plans to conduct a nationwide search for his successor, with the new superintendent expected to transition into the role in January 2027.
