Arnold Teen Critically Injured in Valley County Crash
An Arnold, Nebraska, teen, Riata Remund, 19, is in critical condition following a two-vehicle crash that occurred on Sunday afternoon in Valley County. According to Valley County Sheriff David Scheideler, the accident took place around 3:15 p.m. approximately two miles west of Arcadia on Highway 70. Remund, who was driving a Chevy Blazer westbound, reportedly crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup. She was initially airlifted to CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney due to the severity of her injuries and has since been transferred to an Omaha hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, Joshua Hougnon from Colorado, was treated and released from a local hospital. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities stating that neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected, and seat belts were in use with airbags deployed in both vehicles. Warrants have been issued for the modules of both vehicles to aid in determining the cause of the incident.
