Starlink Satellites Cause Mysterious Lights in Miami Valley Sky
Residents of the Miami Valley were puzzled by mysterious lights in the sky early Friday morning. The lights, which appeared as a string of pearls or a train of bright lights, were identified as Starlink satellites launched by SpaceX. These satellites orbit at an altitude of 342 miles above Earth and are part of SpaceX's initiative to provide low-cost internet access to underserved areas. The visibility of the satellites was particularly good around 5:22 a.m., allowing many to witness the spectacle.
