Costco Recalls Mini Beignets Due to Hazelnut Mislabeling, Posing Allergy Risk
Costco has issued a recall for its Mini Beignets after discovering a packaging error that could pose a significant health risk to individuals with nut allergies. The recall notice indicates that Mini Beignets filled with Caramel were mistakenly packaged as those filled with Chocolate Hazelnut, leading to the presence of undeclared tree nuts, specifically hazelnuts or filberts. This mislabeling could result in serious or potentially life-threatening allergic reactions for consumers with allergies or severe sensitivities to these nuts. The affected products were distributed between January 16 and January 30, 2026, across multiple states including Alabama, Arizona, California, and New York, among others. Costco has advised customers to return the mislabeled products to any of its stores for a full refund and has apologized for the inconvenience caused.
