Hotel bookings have also seen a surge, with domestic rates up 9% and international rates up 12% compared to the previous year. The national average for regular gasoline stands at $3.19 per gallon. For those traveling by road, heavy traffic is expected, particularly on Thursday and Friday, as vacationers and commuters overlap. Cities like Atlanta are projected to experience especially large crowds, necessitating patience and careful planning from travelers.
