North Texas Mother Issues E-Scooter Safety Warning After Son Sustains Fractured Skull and Brain Bleed
A Lewisville mother is raising awareness about the dangers of motorized scooters and bikes after her 12-year-old son, Creed Clark, suffered severe injuries in an e-scooter crash in Waxahachie, North Texas. Creed sustained a fractured skull and nose, along with a brain bleed, after hitting a small pothole while riding with friends. He was flown by CareFlite to Dallas Children's Hospital, where he underwent two surgeries, including emergency brain surgery. His mother, Brittany Rowe, recounted the terrifying experience, emphasizing the critical importance of helmet use. Creed admitted to removing his helmet because he thought it looked 'goofy.' The family's warning comes amidst a significant surge in scooter-related injuries among children, with emergency room visits increasing by nearly 700% over three years.
