Florida Faces Flood Risk as Storms Soak Weekend Forecast
Rounds of slow-moving thunderstorms will drench Florida through the weekend as tropical humidity combines with a weak cold front, raising the risk of localized flash flooding. Some areas could receive 3–5 inches of rain, with isolated totals exceeding 5 inches, especially across central and northern parts of the state. Before storms develop, heat index values may soar to 115°F (46°C) in the Panhandle. Frequent lightning, gusty winds and heavy downpours could disrupt travel, outdoor plans and beach activities through Sunday.
