Houston Kennel Club Hosts Major Dog Show with Beagle Participation
The Houston Kennel Club recently held a significant dog show event on July 17, 2026, in Houston, Texas. The event featured a wide array of dog breeds competing in various categories, with a total entry of 1,429 dogs. Among the participants were beagles, which are a popular breed in dog shows. The event was judged by Mrs. Karen S. McFarlane, and the Best in Show was awarded to a Smooth Fox Terrier named GCHS Aimhi Side Bet, handled by Amy Rutherford. The show included various categories such as Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding, each judged by different experts. The event highlighted the competitive nature of dog shows and the diverse range of breeds that participate.
