Construction Begins on NSW's First Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Facility
Construction has started on New South Wales' first integrated green hydrogen and ammonia facility near Moree. The project, a collaboration between Hiringa Energy and Sundown Pastoral Company, aims to produce 4,500 metric tons of low-carbon ammonia and over 200 metric tons of green hydrogen annually. The facility will use solar power and battery storage to support its operations, reducing reliance on imported fertilizers and fossil fuels. The project is part of a broader effort to enhance local energy resilience and reduce emissions in the agricultural sector.
