APG Federal Credit Union Mobilizes Employees for Hunger Action Month in Maryland
APG Federal Credit Union (APGFCU) organized a month-long volunteer initiative throughout September to combat food insecurity across Baltimore City and Baltimore, Harford, and Cecil counties in Maryland. Over 65 APGFCU employees and their family members participated in various volunteer events at four local charities dedicated to hunger relief. These activities included preparing food, packing meals for students and seniors, and organizing pantry items for distribution to public school pantries. Specific projects involved serving lunch at Elkton Community Kitchen, packing meal boxes for Baltimore Hunger Project, preparing weekend meal bags for Harford County Public School students at The Hope Center of Maryland, and packaging meal boxes for Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland. Additionally, APGFCU’s Community Impact Committee donated $10,000 to the Baltimore Hunger Project to support the expansion of its school pantry program.
