Queens Public Library and NYC Begin $40 Million Douglaston-Little Neck Library Project
The Queens Public Library (QPL) and the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) have commenced a $40.2 million project to replace the Douglaston-Little Neck Library. The new facility will double the public space and include sustainable features such as a green roof and solar panels. The project, expected to be completed by 2030, aims to provide state-of-the-art amenities and expanded areas for community gatherings. The library will feature an art installation by Misha Kahn and is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification for environmental sustainability.
