China Appoints New Deputy Permanent Representative to UN Geneva Office, Signaling Expanded Diplomatic Role
President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China has announced the appointment of Li Chijiang as the new Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland. Concurrently, Li Chijiang will also serve as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary for Disarmament Affairs, replacing Shen Jian.
