Iraqi National Charged with Terrorism for Targeting U.S. Citizens and Interests
The U.S. Department of Justice has announced the arrest of Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, an Iraqi national and senior member of the terrorist organization Kata'ib Hizballah. Al-Saadi has been charged with multiple terrorism-related offenses, including conspiring to provide material support to Kata'ib Hizballah and Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The charges stem from his involvement in nearly 20 attacks and attempted attacks across Europe and the United States. Al-Saadi allegedly coordinated attacks targeting U.S. and Israeli interests, including plans to attack Jewish institutions in New York, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale. He was arrested overseas and transferred to U.S. custody, where he appeared before a federal court in Manhattan.
