Montpelier Prepares for MudFest Amid Vermont's Mud Season
Montpelier, Vermont, is gearing up for MudFest, a two-day celebration of the state's mud season, scheduled for April 25-26, 2026. The event will feature a variety of activities including live music, food, and outdoor events. A highlight of the festival is the Muddy Onion Gravel Grinder, organized by Onion River Outdoors, which anticipates over 700 participants choosing from 20, 40, or 60-mile routes. Additionally, the Gear Makers Festival will showcase Vermont-made outdoor gear and apparel, allowing attendees to meet local makers and shop. The weekend will conclude with the Mucker Mud Run, offering options for a 5K hike, a weighted ruck, or a fast-paced run, with a Mini Mucker course for children on the Statehouse lawn.
