Hanna Demerath Wins City Commissioner's Race in Mount Pleasant, Isabella County
In the recent primary elections in Isabella County, Michigan, Hanna Demerath secured her position as the City Commissioner for a partial term ending December 31, 2028. Demerath, who was already serving on the commission, won with 55% of the vote against her opponent, Michael Kostrzewa. Additionally, Dave Livermore was elected unopposed as the County Road Commissioner. The election saw about 30% voter turnout, with significant support for local millage questions, including a measure to continue funding services for older residents, which passed with 76% approval. The election also set the stage for the upcoming November midterm elections, with candidates like Jocelyn Benson and Abdul El-Sayed securing their positions for the gubernatorial and U.S. Representative races, respectively.
