Harvard College to Extend Annenberg Hall Hours to Boost First-Year Social Spaces
Harvard College Dean David J. Deming announced plans to extend the operating hours of Annenberg Hall, the first-year dining facility, in the upcoming fall semester. This initiative aims to create more social spaces for first-year students, addressing a perceived lack of dedicated common areas for freshmen compared to upperclassmen houses. The College experimented with extended Annenberg hours during the previous spring's finals season, keeping the seating area open overnight, which proved popular among students for studying and socializing. Dean Deming indicated that the extended hours were well-received and that freshmen utilized the space late into the night.
