American Cruise Lines Christens New Riverboat American Encore, Boosting Regional Tourism
American Cruise Lines has christened its new riverboat, American Encore, in Lewiston, Idaho. The ceremony took place on May 12th, with the boat embarking on its inaugural 9-Day Columbia & Snake Rivers cruise from Stevenson, Washington, on May 6th. The event was attended by Cathy McMorris Rodgers, a former Congress representative for Eastern Washington and the Snake River, who served as the Godmother of the vessel. The christening included speeches from key figures such as Captain Andrea Mickelson, Charles B. Robertson, President & CEO of American Cruise Lines, and local officials. The celebration featured a ceremonial blessing, a bottle smash, a flyover, and music by The Victory Belles. The new dock in Lewiston, built in partnership with the Port of Lewiston, was also highlighted, providing additional space for the cruise line's expanding fleet and enhancing waterfront access for the local community.
