Joe Torre Advocates for Children Affected by Domestic Violence
Joe Torre, a Hall of Fame baseball icon, is actively working to support children affected by domestic violence through the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation. Established in 2002, the foundation creates safe spaces in schools across the U.S., providing specialized classrooms with professional counselors trained in domestic violence intervention. These spaces, known as 'Margaret’s Place,' honor Torre's mother, a victim of domestic violence. Torre's initiative has reached over 425,000 young people, offering them a refuge and resources to cope with their experiences. Torre's personal history of domestic violence has fueled his commitment to this cause.
