Canadian Intern Arrested for Espionage at NATO Headquarters in Belgium
A Canadian woman of Chinese origin has been arrested in Belgium on suspicion of espionage while working as an intern at NATO's operational headquarters. The arrest followed a tip-off from NATO's security services, leading to a raid on the suspect's home and workplace. The intern is accused of spying for a third country and being part of a criminal organization. The strategic headquarters, known as SHAPE, is located in Mons, Belgium, and is responsible for planning and commanding joint military operations. Despite the arrest, NATO officials have stated that there is no indication of any impact on NATO's operational readiness or ongoing tasks.
