Mumbai Campaign Promotes Early Detection of Oral Cancer Through Self-Examination
In Mumbai, oncologists are promoting a campaign to encourage early detection of oral cancer through self-examination. The initiative, part of the Head & Neck Cancer Awareness Month, is led by Dr. Sewanti Limaye from Sir H. N. Reliance Foundation Hospital. The campaign, under the hashtag #ActAgainstOralCancer, urges citizens to perform a two-minute self-check to identify early signs of oral cancer. This effort is crucial as head and neck cancers, particularly oral cancers, are prevalent in India, with tobacco use being a major risk factor. The campaign aims to reduce the burden of these cancers by promoting awareness and early intervention.
