Indiana Governor Mike Braun Announces Statewide K-12 School Tip Line for Safety Concerns
Indiana Governor Mike Braun has announced a new statewide anonymous tip line for all K-12 schools in Indiana. This initiative, the first of its kind in the state, will allow students, staff, and families to report concerns such as bullying, threats, violence, or individuals who may be struggling. The tip line will offer 24/7, year-round monitoring at no cost to participating schools. This program is expected to be available for enrolled schools starting in January 2027. Governor Braun emphasized that this $1 million investment in school safety aims to help schools identify concerns earlier, connect students with support, and intervene before situations escalate into tragedies. The Office of School Safety will conduct outreach and education sessions for schools in the coming months, and enrollment in the program is optional, with the Central Indiana Educational Service Center facilitating the enrollment process.
