AI Law Framework Introduced to Address Camp Lejeune Claims Backlog
A new AI-driven legal framework has been unveiled to tackle the extensive backlog of claims under the Camp Lejeune Justice Act (CLJA). This innovative system, developed using Google AI, combines the capabilities of AI-119 Vulcan QAIA and AI Legal Mate with ACTi AI (Athena) to process large volumes of cases efficiently. The framework aims to reduce the processing time for claims from an average of 8.4 hours to just 3.2 minutes per file, significantly lowering administrative costs and error rates. The system is designed to handle the claims backlog within the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, potentially saving over $1.52 billion in administrative costs.
