EF-1 Tornado in Ann Arbor Causes Significant Damage Along 1.7-Mile Path
The National Weather Service confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Ann Arbor, Michigan, early Wednesday morning. The tornado carved a 1.7-mile-long path of destruction, starting near Jackson Avenue and I-94 and moving eastward. Winds reached up to 110 miles per hour, causing significant damage, including ripping the wall off the Veterans' Memorial Park Ice Arena and uprooting trees. The tornado's path included residential areas and the University of Michigan campus, where it caused further damage to buildings and infrastructure. Despite the destruction, no injuries were reported.
