JK Rowling-backed Women's Rights Group Ends Legal Challenge Over Event Cancellation
The Women's Rights Network Northern Ireland (WRN NI), supported by JK Rowling, has withdrawn its legal challenge against Belfast's Féile an Phobail community arts festival. The dispute arose after the festival canceled an event focused on women's rights, citing concerns over the inclusion of organizations known for opposing transgender rights. Despite the cancellation, WRN NI reached an agreement with the festival organizers, allowing the event to proceed at an alternative venue. The festival maintained its decision to exclude the event from its program, emphasizing its commitment to marginalized communities.
