New York State Expands AI Training for Over 100,000 Employees Following Successful Pilot
New York State is expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) training program to over 100,000 state employees after a successful pilot. The pilot, managed by the state Office of Information Technology Services (ITS), initially involved 1,200 employees across various departments, including Labor, Health, and the Division of Budget. Participants reported increased confidence in using AI, with 75% saving time using AI tools and 90% improving their understanding of AI. The training is conducted through InnovateUS, an online platform that educates state staff on responsible AI use. The program aims to enhance operational efficiency by integrating AI into daily tasks, such as drafting executive summaries and creating data dashboards.
